Model UN takes ‘best club’ award at ‘Super Bowl’ of the circuit

The accomplishments just keep coming for our Model United Nations club. Our team took the “best club” award at the University of California, Berkeley Model United Nations (BMUN), held March 5 and 6.

The success is even more incredible as UCC was the only Canadian school represented. This accomplishment means our team has won a best delegation award at every major conference attended over the past three years, at McGill University, Harvard University, Columbia University and now again at UC Berkeley.

Art teacher’s research grant inspired by TOK students

If there was a competition to decide the busiest woman at Upper Canada College, Vesna Krstich would be a strong contender for the title.

The art and theory of knowledge (TOK) teacher’s most recent research grant from the Canada Council for the Arts (CCA) sees her studying the relationship between performance art and pedagogy in the work of American artist and educator Allan Kaprow, the so-called “father of happenings” from the 1960s.

UCC welcomes Syrian kids for ‘playdate’

If you wanted to see the international language of soccer in action, the covered Oval —also known as “the Fubble” — was the place to be yesterday. In a milestone game, UCC boys had no trouble communicating with Syrian refugee kids, as they took to the field for an afternoon of fun.

“To be or not to be?” That question has gripped so many Hamlets throughout the ages. Audiences witnessed the stunning opening of Hamlet in the David Chu Theatre on Feb. 17 to 20.
